Gloves are stocked in nitrile, latex and vinyl. Nitrile is the sensible default for most clinical use: latex-free, so there is no allergy risk, and more tear-resistant than vinyl. Sizing matters more than people expect, because a glove that is too small tears at the thumb and gets double-gloved, which costs more than ordering the right size. Masks are supplied by standard rather than by description, so Type I, Type IIR, FFP2 and FFP3 are clearly distinguished. These are not interchangeable and the right one depends on the procedure rather than preference. Sharps and clinical waste bins are available across the lid colour codes, from small bedside containers to 770 litre wheeled units. Fire-retardant options are available for corridors and plant rooms.
